Newfangle - Sneak Peek

It seems forever since I've touched base with you all and I profusely apologize. I'm two days out from finishing the most horrendous uni semester encountered and boy will I be delighted when it's over.

If you follow me on instagram..(tania_chic25) you'll know that I've been putting together a film with a group. This will be finished by Friday and I'll be sure to give you a link to the youtube file. I was thrilled to be working with such a dynamic and creative bunch of girls to put this film together. I honestly couldn't have produced this without them.

Elle Graham was kind enough to allow us to use her music for the film and her songs suited the aesthetic perfectly.

Here are some behind the scene shots...

Starring: Charlotte Durand & Lisa Naske
Directed by: Tania Clarke
Produced by: Kaitlin Bell
Filmed by: Carmen Smith
Edited by: Emily Bonaccorsi

I've plenty more to share if you check back soon...

Prabal Gurung Spring 2012 RTW

Forever a fan of photoshop, I've decided to delve into my creative side and begin to put together some collages for this blog. She's a little neglected if you can't half tell. This week has gone much too fast and I'm feeling the need to reflect upon what has been happening.

Lately I've been...

....Doing some much needed uni has been completed and not yet completed...

....I've taken some time to relax with friends and have spent hours perusing over images that inspire me. See pictures on instagram @tania_chic25

....Continued my search for amazing designers...Prabal Gurung (see collage above) is my recent find who I've fallen head over heels. His designs emulate the elegance and beauty of a butterfly's wings. Not to mention I love silky fabric and watercolour inspired prints. Finding designers like Gurung only intensify my desire to study textile design.

....I've been looking at diploma's to study at another university next year to further my employ-ability in the area I wish to develop a career in.

....I've also been buying up a storm online with an intention to do some many overdue outfit posts.

Have I mentioned I'm obsessed with lavender and mint lately?

What have you been doing?

All collages are my own and there copyrighted.

Sewing Room Inspiration

So I've been a little MIA. I could go on with the excuses but I shall leave it at that I've been seriously swamped with my third and final year of study.

I have a few exciting projects and images to share with you, which I shall reveal in another post. I've had another fashion column and article published in a magazine I write for and I'm on the committee for the Townsville Fashion Festival debuting on October 25th-27th, 2012. I will be producing a collection for this, so busy times are ahead.

On another topic I'm also doing work experience with the amazing Katelyn Aslett a local designer and artist who is internationally successful and sells her beautiful garments worldwide. Check her out amazing work here

By becoming involved with the Fashion Festival and working with Katelyn allows me to be completely immersed in a genre I love.

On other news, the creation of my very own production/sewing studio is well on its way, with the walls just needing to be finished and an aircon installed ect ect. Then begins the glorious task of decorating it into a unique inspirational space. I've been perusing through imagery of sewing rooms and here are a few of my favourites...

The wooden boxes are a brilliant storage and decor idea.
Clipboards with inspirational quotes.
Bright colours and space efficient shelves.

I love the idea of a desk in the middle of the room, ideal for pattern making as well as an extra storage space.
I need to start organizing all my cottons like this, I can never find the colour I need.
Mood boards filled with beautiful imagery will cover the walls of my new space.

I bought a tripod today, so I can finally do outfit posts again! It's too hard to organize another person to capture them at the moment, so self timer and I will become great friends ;)

Check back in soon friends,

Instagram Adventures

So I'll admit, I did go into hiding there for a little while. But sometimes it's important to live through every adventure without holding back to capture it. Luckily, there is a sweet little app that allows you to pause for a moment to take a snap.
See what I've been up to...

1. Dressed up to go to the movies and dinner with mum. Shorts are from Jaxx and silk shirt from salvos. Coral clutch is from Target.
2. Bright blue nails that look green in this photo with my coral clutch.
3. Vintage floral dress with turquoise belt from Stellar Moda.
4. My outfit when I went shopping with a friend.
5. Rings from Lovisa that I wore to work
6. Myself at work taking photos for the Hunter facebook in new stock.

 1. 6am walks with a friend with a perfect view.
2. Taking photos of new stock that arrived at Jaxx.
3. Relaxing and sipping my favourite drink - lime and water.
4. Obsessed with pastel orange at the moment and all coloured belts!
5. Loving the hippy vibe of this hairstyle.
6. Drawing new designs for my upcoming collection, (soon I promise).

1. So inspired by the beautiful aesthetics of butterflies.
2. Mannequin at Ally with some super cool hippy pants.
3. Sequin tube skirts that came in at work.
4. Having fun with new stock that arrived at Hunter.
5. Kate Ermilio, one of my current inspirations and the most amazing fashion designer.
6. Blogging about the things I love in the below post.

Hope you're all loving February & follow me on instagram @tania_chic25

10 Things I Love About Today

So it's been a while since I've posted something like this...I sometimes forget about how important it is to seek out the concepts, actions and thoughts that inspire me.

Blogging isn't about who is wearing the best outfit or who has the best giveaway. It's about sharing yourself with the world; the real you and not just your expensive designer buys.

So here it is friends, just a few things that have been on my mind lately...

1. The best meal of the day

That's right - breakfast. Each night I go to bed excited about what I will be enticed to eat the next day.

2. Coffee

The one thing that gets me through my day, why are you so delicious...

3. This Photoshop

Come on Adobe, invent this already!

4. Uni Life

Typical me. I've really got to stop being such a slave to technology, unfortunately once again this will occur as soon as uni rolls around again...which is not too far away.

5. Words, words and more glorious words

I'm an english freak, grammar lover and all round language enthusiast. Words add spice to a page, they're powerful and they connect our world.

6. This feeling

Have you ever sat on a beach gazing at the ocean and feeling so incredibly small? Sometimes we forget that we are just a tiny creature in a big ol' world that keeps on moving.

 7. Road Trips

Currently about to hike on an adventure down to the lovely land of Brisbane with a dear friend of mine. So typical that the thing I'm most excited to plan is what I'm going to eat.

8. Reading

Just reminding myself that I need to recall a time when I would spend an entire day reading; tucked up in my doona with a nice cup of tea.

9. Creative organization

There's something about being organized that makes me feel all giddy inside. I could stroll through pictures all day of how people creatively organize their homes and diaries.

10. Your reflection

I often sit in front of a mirror and stare (not in the "I'm so hot" way) but actually reflect upon the person I am, the person I want to be and how I can be better as a whole. I think it's important to constantly improve oneself.
